My Methods
Using experience, training, and intuition to weave together the different modalities, I create a unique path for every individual. These are the core pillars of my practice.
EMDR
I’m trained in standard protocol and Attachment-Focused EMDR by the Parnell Institute. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, well-researched therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma triggers while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically tapping), which is associated with a reduction in the symptoms associated with traumatic memories.

Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing (SE) provides a framework to assess where a person is "stuck" in the fight, flight, or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. SE transforms habitual patterns by using the body’s natural wisdom. This method, developed by Dr. Peter Levine works from the premise that, “it is the overwhelmed response to the perceived life threat that is causing an unbalanced nervous system.”
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. It cultivates peace and freedom by witnessing thoughts and emotions with a non-judgmental stance.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Trained by with Dr. Richard Schwartz and Dr. Jeanne Catanzaro in the Internal Family Systems model, I use IFS as a transformative, evidence-based psychotherapy to help people heal by accessing and liberating their protective and wounded inner parts.
